I am in the process of writing the final. I plan on having a number of different sections, but would like to know what the preferred item types are from your point of view.  Of the test types listed on the poll, choose the one that you prefer. I will make sure that the winning type is worth the most on the final exam.

motivation
The motivation paper is due Friday. It should be from 4-6 pages, double space, 12 font times-new roman. Y ou don’t need to include a Reference page nor do you need to include citations in the text. Use information from the text (chapter 10), lectures, classroom discussions and “delicious.” The delicious tag is “motivation” and you should find all the on-line information you need there.

Topic— What should a teacher know about motivation?

You should include two sections: 1) Discuss the various theories about motivation (Behavioral-Skinner, Bandura; Constructivist-Piaget, Adkinson (Achievement), Weiner (Attributrion), Wigfield (Expectency), Mazlow (needs) 2) Discuss your plan/strategies for motivating students once you have your own classroom.

I understand that some are having a hard time remembering where the links are to the learning style inventories. They are at the end of the Constructivist Learning PPT. You should talk about three Learning Styles, LSQ and Meyers-Briggs links on the slide and Gregorc, the one we did in class. You can find the information on Multiple Intelligences on the same PPT or on the Intellegence PPT.

Assignment:

Write a short (3-5 page) reflection on Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences. Be sure to include the following:

1) Your reflection on the results of the various Learning Style Inventories you took. What were the results? Were there common themes that emerged from all the inventories? Did the results confirm what you know about your own styles or did they contradict what you know?

2) How might an understanding of Learning Styles impact you as a teacher? What are the implications for the various ways students communicate?

3) What do you think your strengths are in terms of Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences? Weaknesses?

4) How might an understanding of Multiple Intelligences impact you as a teacher? How might you alter your instruction based upon the communication and interactive preferences of your students?

Due: Friday, May 15th (this paper could be used as a portfolio artifact for standard 2)
