I am in the process of writing the final. I plan on having a number of different sections, but would like to know what the preferred item types are from your point of view. Of the test types listed on the poll, choose the one that you prefer. I will make sure that the winning type is worth the most on the final exam.

Just an observation, but I think people are unaware that they are confused about what you’re proposing.
If multiple guess is “worth the most” on the exam, it creates a higher likelihood that people will score poorly. You never said anything about making the winning category the majority in NUMBER of test questions.
So, essentially, you might have 15 Multiple Guess regardless which category wins, but they could be worth 2 points or 5 points each based on whether or not that category wins. A lot of times MG questions end up 50/50, and I’d rather have the bulk of my score counted on a question where my understanding could be demonstrated in my own words, rather than a MG slip-up.
Read carefully Dr. Burwell’s proposal, and think about how you want the test SCORED, not structured.
